I've also been struggling with more food allergies. New food
allergies. More hives. More medications. More doctors visits. More blood work.
More more more…of all the wrong stuff. Blechk!
I would like to tell you that I have been spending more
time with Jesus, more time with friends, more time with family. But then I’d be
lying. I've just been overwhelmed with the daily R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S of life. That blasted R word!
I have literally been running around
like a chicken with my head cut off. Thinking about praying. Crying
from uncontrollable hives. Thinking about
reading my bible. Talking to everyone...but God. And feeling as crazy as a cat on a
hot tin roof. And as burnt out as a fly on a fire!
Can you relate to any (or all) of that?
It’s time for you and me to regain some control. Health issues happen. Life
issues happen. Tragedy strikes. Money problems arise. People lose jobs. Moral
issues abound. Presidents we don’t really like or agree with get re-elected. And
bad things happen to good people. Let’s stop
complaining and focusing on all that "stuff" and get back to the basics. G - O - D!
Where is God
through all the good and bad "stuff" that happens each day?
RIGHT THERE WITH EACH OF US, silly! I tend to forget that
myself sometimes.
We seem to ignore God when things gets busy and give Him a quick shout out when things go south. We spend more time talking to
the "stuff" of this world (TV, internet, radio) than Him! Let’s stop that insanity!
For the month of December I choose to do the following a.k.a. "My December Sanity Plan!"
For the month of December I choose to do the following a.k.a. "My December Sanity Plan!"
- Spend more time reading my bible. Less time with technology.
- Spend more time talking to God. Less time “talking” to the world.
- Spend more time listening to God. Less time “listening” to my own mind.
- Spend more time on Jesus. Less time on presents, baking and all the other “stuff” that happens this time of year.
Will you join me? Let’s CHOOSE JESUS! Let’s spend MORE time with the most wonderful Creator of all during the most wonderful time of the year! LESS on all that other "stuff!"
This December I’ll be taking time to
refuel my own spiritual batteries. I’ll be
back in January with a whole different take on life, I'm sure. *fingers crossed* I might
even be thankful for these blasted hives. Who knows! This Christmas we have chosen as a family to give the money typically spent on gifts to some of our favorite charities. Our goal as a family is to truly celebrate the Christmas season for what it is - a celebration of the joyous birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
On a side note, I have this insane plan to cook my way through 2013 with no boxed or
packaged goods entering our house. I've already been talking about it on air, so it has to happen, right? Plus, it’s always good to have a goal, even
if it’s not a realistic one. I'll be writing more in 2013...and sharing lots of recipes...don’t say you haven’t been warned!
Have a blessed December my dear brothers and sisters and make sure to remember
that Jesus is the reason for the season. May you remember to keep Him warm in your heart all year through!
